Description

The Bedell Cristin Cayman Islands Scholarship Programme provides funding for Caymanians looking for financial assistance to undertake undergraduate or postgraduate educational legal studies in support of ultimately becoming a qualified Attorney.

The scholarship offers:

Funding to cover tuition fees for the duration of the qualification payable to the institution directly
The opportunity for intern placements with the firm
Mentoring and guidance from experienced professionals

Scholarship applications open in December each year for the academic year starting the following September.

Eligibility Requirements

Candidates applying must be Caymanian or hold Caymanian Status.
During their time on the programme, candidates must achieve consistently high academic standards and performance should equate to being on course to achieve an Upper Second Class or First Class degree result. Failure to achieve the required standard in any of the years could result in the Scholarship being withdrawn. Candidates must provide evidence of their grades and assessments each year.
Should the candidate fail to meet the minimum academic standards, withdraw from or defer the educational qualification they're undertaking then we reserve the right to withdraw the scholarship with immediate effect.

The name of the course/qualification being undertaken
The name of the institution you're planning to studying with and evidence of your acceptance or conditions of acceptance (such as required high school exam grades)
Course start and finish dates
Evidence from the institution of the costs of the qualification
Any work experience
Evidence of your Caymanian Status
Any current or prior financial support you've received
Contact details for 2 personal references, one of which must be a school or university tutor

Cover Letter

Your cover letter should include details of your educational and career aspirations, why the scholarship would be beneficial to you from a personal and financial perspective and the qualities you possess that you feel would add value and be of benefit to the firm.
